#3 Genesis - Additional Gameplay Mechanics

Let's look at how Genesis can be played in depth with a few examples.

Air elemental - used Spell Whirlwind to blow opponent one step back, uses Ability Charge to move forward one step. Player finishes the round by moving bottom platform and placing green marble for additional defense

Deva encounters Draconic Lich - Deva's Skill is not enough to kill Draconic Lich in one turn, however Deva's racial effect is triggered, and a roll of the D20 dice means it is a 1 hit KO - meaning Draconic Lich is removed without using one more action

Fire Ifrit - Ability - Last Stand - if opposing player needs one more movement to win, fire Ifrit is able to use last stand to transport back to the final position and defend. Fire Ifrit also has a Spell Pillar of Fire, which it can use to roll on an even number to prevent opponent from making a move next round

Titan - Spell Radiant Cloud doubles effect of Ability Charge - Titan thus can move 2 positions ahead on board if unobstructed

Animalia racial effect - Forest Sprite has only 3 Dex attack, cannot kill Wretched Witch in one turn, as she has 4 Dex HP. A roll of even number on the D20 dice means giving Forest Sprite one additional damage, meaning able to remove Wretched Witch in one move.

Gyno Sphinx - Ability - Brother in Arms - giving his wisdom attack characteristic to Titan, which has a nominal 4 attack value, meaning the Titan's attack is now 4 Wis instead of 4 Csm - able to hit low Wis health Chromatic Dragon in one hit

Elemental racial effect - roll a multiple of 5 and can summon another Elemental onto the platforn

Gyno Sphinx - using Spell - Inscrutable Gaze on a roll of multiple of 3 on the D20 dice to prevent the opposing marble from making a move. If player knows what race and card the opposing marble is going to reveal, this is a good strategy to defend against the next attack. Opposing player is forced to make other moves on the board during his turn

Bone Wyrm - uses Spell Chilling Breath to reduce additional action of opposing player's unit next round. Then Ability Leap is triggered, making movement over the red marble in order to race towards the end

Hill Giant - a defensive style character that uses a Spell Harden that blocks half the damage next round on a roll of multiple of 4. Ability Charge is triggered so that opponent cannot move forward next round

Wretched Witch - triggers Demon racial ability on a roll of D20 dice to summon another Demon on the platform. Player uses moves to move the platform and place Demon white marble at checkpoint as a defensive move, without sacrificing the position that the other white marble has at the end of the bridge

Wretched Witch - Uses Last Stand to defend final checkpoint, then uses Spell Confusing Gaze to render opponent's chance to attack to be reduced by half next round

Draconic Lich - assuming player only has one additional move left this round, plays a defensive move by triggering racial effect, as he knows the green marble is Angel race, meaning angels can one hit KO his marble. Dragon racial effect blocks any attack on an odd roll of D20 dice, ensuring marble survives next round

Simultaneous Movements of Platforms

Moving two platforms at once for offense - player now has option to purchase red marble on left track of bridge for offense, or to proceed with green marble on the right side. Player can also strategically choose to leave one marble on the platform for defense if opposing player pushes through

Moving two platforms - front platform for offense to move marble into position - as for the back platform, because opponent is one step away from winning, marble is placed there for defense

Other Gameplay Considerations

Figuring out what marble colour represents which race, so that when placing units on left or right platform, able to place a race that counters the opposing race

Knowing the sequence of your cards and opposing player's cards - with that knowledge, able to play cards that gives you a movement advantage or to kill the opponent within one action

Knowing how to move 2 or 3 platforms at the same time - this reduces the number of actions taken for movement, allows marbles to be placed strategically for offense and defense at the same time
