Let's look at some examples of how certain scenarios can be overcome using different combinations of feats.
General Feats Scenario 1: The Planar Tempest
Challenge: A violent storm of conflicting planar energies rages across the bridge. Characters must resist being swept away or struck by the tempest's raw power.
The above feat, Resilient Body, can be used to overcome the Scenario Planar Tempest. Player should give an explanation, for example "Resilient Body increases the hit points of my Divine Oracle, granting her resistance to planar energy damage. As such, this feat allows my Divine Oracle to overcome this scenario."
General Feats Scenario 3: The Illusionary Maze
Challenge: The bridge transforms into a labyrinth of illusions, disorienting travelers and leading them astray. Characters must navigate the maze and discern reality from deception.
To solve The Illusionary Maze scenario, player can be creative and use the "Ritual Master" feat to explain that this feat gives the user to alter the environment. The player says something like "Ritual Master feat gives my Shadow Knight the ability to alter the illusions back into reality. As the illusions are gone, the Shadow Knight is able to walk out of the maze unscathed."
General Feats Scenario 5: The Temporal Rift
Challenge: The bridge is destabilized by temporal rifts, causing characters to be displaced in time. Characters must find a way to stabilize themselves and continue their journey.
If your best shot is the above feat, Divine Resilience, a player can attempt to say "Displacement of time is a form of negative energy, arguably a form of infernal energy. As a Radiant Paladin, I am granted resistance to this type of energy. As such, this feat allows me to stabilize myself in the temporal rift until I am granted safe passage."
If you have an additional feat like the Soul Speaker above, perhaps the player can add on and say "Additionally, the Soul Speaker feat allows the Radiant Paladin to communicate with temporal creatures in the rift, allowing the displacement of time to be significantly reduced."
The Game Master and opposing player thus are more inclined to let you overcome this scenario with the explanations using 2 feats.
Combat Scenario 1: The Shadow Legion
Challenge: A horde of shadowy creatures attacks travelers on the bridge. Characters must fight their way through the onslaught and protect their allies.
To resolve this combat scenario, player can say "Planar Resistance gives my Radiant Paladin the ability to resist the damage from the shadowy creatures approaching us."
The player can then add on with the Soul Shatter feat, "Together with the Soul Shatter feat, the Radiant Paladin can inflict damage on the shadowy creatures, which have weakened souls and spirits because they are mere shadows, instead of their former past selves."
The Game Master and opposing player can find this explanation reasonable and allow the scenario to be overcome.
Combat Scenario 4: The Ambush
Challenge: The party is ambushed by hidden enemies on the bridge. Characters must quickly adapt to the situation and defeat their attackers.
Assuming you don't have a combat feat that can directly overcome the scenario, perhaps, with "Charisma Influence", a player can say "With the Charisma Influence feat, the pious believer can deceive the enemies into thinking that they are weaker than me and I can intimidate them to back off."
Well, that's the whole point of being creative, and seeing if the Game Master and opposing player agree.
Social Scenario 2: The Planar Negotiator
Challenge: A powerful planar entity demands a toll to cross the bridge. The character must persuade or bargain with the entity to allow passage.
A player with the "Arcane Scholar" feat may explain the following, "The pious believer, armed with the 'Arcane Scholar' feat, possesses deep knowledge and understanding when it comes to magic and occult. This knowledge may prove invaluable to the powerful planar entity and can act as a toll."
If the Game Master and opposing player are not satisfied, the player can add on, "With the 'Infernal Persuasion' feat, with the toll already given, I represent my deity Kyvalron/Lovelyn to beseech the planar entity to grant us safe passage, as my deity is on the same level as the planar entity."
Skills Scenario 2: The Weakened Structure
Challenge: The bridge is showing signs of structural weakness. The character must assess the damage and determine a safe passage.
The player with the "Planar Loremaster" feat can explain the following, "With deep expertise about the planes of existence, naturally knowledge of this bridge is within calculations. The bridge is actually an inter-connect to another plane of dimension."
"With the 'Cartographer' feat, together with the knowledge I mentioned just now, the pious believer is able to successfully navigate through all the difficult areas of the bridge and find a safe passage."
Skills-Based Scenario 5: The Resource Scarcity
Challenge: The party is running low on essential supplies. The character must find a way to replenish their resources or devise a strategy to overcome the shortage.
Here the Soul Speaker feat is featured again, with the reason being that players can use this feat to explain, "With this feat, we can communicate with creatures from other planes of existence and ally with them to bring us food and essential supplies, so that we can continue on our journey."
If the Game Master or opposing player is not convinced, perhaps add on, "With the 'Soulful Empathy' feat, the pious believer can facilitate a strong bond with those planar existences so the probability of them helping the pious believer greatly increases."
Unique Scenario 2: Harbinger of Destiny
Challenge: The bridge is caught in a time loop, causing events to repeat endlessly. The character must use their ability to see the future to break the cycle and find a way forward.
A unique scenario can only be overcome when you have the specific unique feat for it. Here, no complex explanation is necessary, only that player must role-play and let the pious believer use the power of altering the future events to break the cycle of time-loop.
